Tampere might be the most lovable city in Finland, and Finland might be the happiest country in the world.
We all know Finland International Improv Festival is the most fun you can have in Tampere in June. Our team put together a list of their favorite spots and activities in the city.
You can find tons of information on VisitTampere about what to eat and places to visit when you’re in town.
These two maps are everyone’s favorite: From locals with love & Walking tours in the city centre.
Find interesting spots right around the corner from the hostel, workshops and theatre. And for some extra inspiration check out this following list.
It’s worth to take the time and walk through the woods nearby. Within minutes from the city centre you can loose yourself in stunning forests.
The walk up to Pyyniki observation tower is also one of my favorites, maybe because you get to eat amazing donuts with the view of both lakes and the city.
Enjoy the view of the city from Moro SkyBar and eat some munkki at Pyynikin Munkkikahvila or swimming at one of our lakes.
Go to the public sauna Rauhaniemi or take a walk in Pispalan harju, a hill between two lakes with pretty colourful wooden houses.
Go stand in a street corner, watch people and try to guess if they are happy or not.
During summer I love just sitting next to the river at koskipuisto. Oh, and try Mustamakkara at Laukontori or Tammelantori! Don’t judge without trying, it’s awesome!
Go to a beach! Swim in a lake! We have several of those; two big ones surrounding the centre of town. And they’re super clean! Also, sauna. There’s a lakeside sauna in Rauhaniemi, a beautiful and peaceful spot just a 20-minute walk from the hostel. Go there, have a swim, get your sauna on, crack open a cold one or get an ice cream, and enjoy Finnish nature!
